Exterior House Painting Across Colorado
We repaint the outside of houses across the Greater Denver Area, in the right order and in the months that suit it. Marked paint is often the first visible sign of a storm, so we look at the whole house, not just the wall you noticed.
Who Comes to Paint Your House

Everyone who comes into your home has been background checked. That's standing policy here, not something we set up for one job. We also carry general liability and workers compensation insurance. Exterior work means ladders and people around your property, and that's a risk we should be carrying, not you. Some of our salespeople speak Spanish as well. Mention it when you reach out and we'll try to line one up, though that's availability, not a guarantee.
We look at the whole outside of the house while we're there. That's usually the more useful part of the visit. The paint is rarely the expensive damage. It's just the part you can see from the ground. We offer financing through Hearth, so a repaint doesn't have to wait for the right month.
Damaged Paint Is Often Storm Evidence

Chipped or marked paint on one side of a house usually isn't a paint problem at all. It's evidence, and it tells you which direction the storm came from. Paint sits at eye level, which is why it's often the first thing anybody notices. Wind-driven debris and hail mark the walls facing the way the storm was traveling, and the same storm usually reached the roof from above, where none of it is visible from the ground.
- Order matters: roof first, then wall work, then paint. A roof job puts people, ladders and material at the edge for days, and fresh paint underneath doesn't come through untouched; painting first means paying for the same wall twice.
- A crew is genuinely worth it for two or more stories, awkward access, repair before coating, an insurance claim, or a season window too tight to finish otherwise..

The Months That Suit Paint Here
Paint needs warmth to cure properly, and the window here is narrower than people expect at both ends. Manufacturers set a minimum surface and air temperature for exterior coatings. That's what sets the season, not how the day feels.
Spring. Mild and workable. The real risk is a storm arriving in the middle of a job. That's a genuine possibility from late spring onward.
Summer. Peak season, with a caveat nobody mentions. Strong high-altitude sun can dry a coat too fast, which causes adhesion problems. So we follow the shade around the house instead of going wall by wall. Afternoon storms are the other constraint.
Early fall. Often the cleanest window of the year. Comfortable days, easing sun, fewer storms rolling through.
Late fall and winter. Once overnight temperatures drop, curing slows sharply and the weather stops being reliable.
So if you want it done this year and it's already late, that's a real deadline. Not a manufactured one.
What Makes Exterior Paint Last
Most paint that fails early didn't fail because of the paint.
- Prep is most of the job. Washing, scraping, sanding, caulking and priming bare spots is where the hours go and what decides whether the finish is still there in five years; cheap prep, not cheap paint, is the usual cause of early failure.
- South and west walls fade first. At this elevation the sun is harder on a finish than lower down, so two walls of the same house, painted the same day with the same product, can be years apart. That's expected, not a defect.
- Freezing nights work caulk lines and joints loose, as water gets into a small gap, freezes and widens it; worth a look at year three rather than year seven, since catching an open joint early is what keeps the rest of the finish sound.
- Paint doesn't fix a water problem. It won't fix rot, a failed flashing detail or a leak, and a coat over any of those just hides it for a season.
What Our Customers Say
Adam Mayka
Josh with Semper Fi came to look at my roof after the most recent hail storm and couldn’t have been nicer. He was honest, thorough, and explained everything about the inspection process in great detail. His attention to detail and communication made it a very comfortable experience. Albeit we don’t need a new roof, when that time does come I will be using Semper Fi and I will recommend them to all of my friends and neighbors
Todd Reynolds
Was very responsive. I was able to get what was needed in regards to our roof inspections on three houses quickly. And worked with our insurance agent getting the right information needed for our insurance needs. If you’re looking for someone that knows roofs and you need inspections or confirmations regarding your roof. Highly would recommend recommend this company

We had Semper Fi Restoration Inc. complete the roof on our 10,000 sq. ft. commercial building, and we had a great experience from start to finish. We had the opportunity to meet Joshua Bosley and worked mainly with Leo, our project manager. Leo’s communication throughout the entire project was top-notch. As with any large commercial roofing project, we ran into a few unexpected snags along the way, but the Semper Fi team stepped up and took care of every issue with no questions asked. They stood behind their work, kept us informed, and made sure everything was handled properly. It’s refreshing to work with a company that takes responsibility and follows through on what they promise. We are very happy with the finished roof and would definitely recommend Semper Fi Restoration Inc. to anyone looking for a dependable and professional roofing company. Thank you to Joshua, Leo, and the entire Semper Fi team for a job well done!

There are a lot of Roofing Contractors out there so when I was referred Josh and his team by a close friend I knew there must be something different about them. From the first meeting with Josh and Daniel I felt comfortable and at ease. I had a lot of questions and they answered them without hesitation and in extreme detail which I appreciated. They helped me through the entire insurance journey and made sure I was covered before any work was done which helped lift that burden off my shoulders. Also, you will not find a Owner as diligent as Josh when it comes to QA/QC of the work done by his crews making sure the roof/gutters you get are up to HIS standards. I appreciate Josh and Daniel for getting the work done and definitely exceeded all my expectations. I don't usually write reviews but their work deserves some praise, I will definitely be referring them anytime I hear anyone I know is even thinking of getting or needing a new roof.

Josh Bosley and Semper Fi Restoration recently completed hail damage work on our residence. Josh handled EVERYTHING with our insurance company. The work was completed on time, as promised. Clean-up was great. Josh came back and guaranteed we were happy with everything - including fixing two small areas that we felt needed additional work. He ensured we were 100% happy prior to moving on. He was a great communicator, very patient with us, and made us extremely happy that we chose him and Semper Fi. I rarely leave reviews - but would highly recommend him. Final note, our insurance agent recommended him to us and he was as great as advertised.

Josh is absolutely amazing, his service and follow-up is thr best I have ever experienced. The thing that really impressed me was his honesty after inspection, he shared that I didn't need a new roof. There are very few companies with that level of honesty. He has earned a customer for life.

Exterior Painting Frequently Asked Questions
When is the right time to paint a house here?
Late spring through early fall, with early fall often the cleanest window of the year. Cold slows the cure, so once overnight temperatures start dropping the finish stops setting up the way it should. Summer works, but the strong sun means following the shade around the house rather than working straight through.
How often does a house need repainting here?
It depends on the material underneath and on which walls get the sun. The sunny walls come due well before the shaded ones on the same house. A repaint is rarely all-or-nothing. Looking at each elevation on its own gives you a more useful answer than any interval would.
Can hail damage paint?
Yes, and it's one of the few storm signs a homeowner can actually see. It usually shows on the walls facing the way the storm came from. Chips and marks, rather than anything dramatic. That pattern is the useful part, because it tells you which side of the house took the hit.
Should I paint before or after the roof gets replaced?
After. A roof job puts ladders, boots and material along the roof edge, and fresh paint underneath doesn't survive that. Paint first and you'll pay for the same wall twice.
Why does one side of my house look so much worse?
The sun. At this elevation the walls facing it wear years ahead of the shaded sides of the same house. Same paint, same day, same house, different exposure.
Will painting fix my peeling siding?
Only if what's underneath is sound. Where the material itself has failed, a new coat fails the same way the last one did.
Do I need my neighborhood association to approve the color?
Some do. It's worth starting early, because it's separate from anything a contractor does and it's where projects sit still.

Have the Whole Outside Looked At
We'll look at the whole outside of the house and tell you plainly what we find. The inspection and the estimate are both free.
