Emergency Roof Repair in Aurora FAQs
My ceiling is bulging. Should I make a hole in it?
Yes, a small one, low down, with a bucket underneath. A bulge is a pocket of water sitting on plaster or board that was never meant to hold it. Letting it drain in one controlled spot is a lot better than the whole thing coming down at once.
Can a roof be tarped in the snow?
Usually yes. It's not the same as a repair, and it isn't meant to be. The job is to stop water getting in until the roof is dry enough to work on properly.
Is a missing shingle an emergency?
Not usually, unless something is coming in. What matters is whether the layer underneath is still intact. If it isn't, water has a route in and that changes the answer. Worth a look either way.
Does winter wind damage count for an insurance claim in Aurora?
