Why is the leak nowhere near the stain on my ceiling?
Because water runs before it drips. It gets in at one point and travels along the boards or the framing. It comes through wherever it finds a gap. We trace it back to where it actually gets in rather than fixing the spot you can see.
A shingle came off in the wind. Is that urgent?
It's worth doing before the next storm rather than after it. An open edge gives wind something to pull on and gives water a way in. One missing shingle is a small job. The same spot after another storm often isn't.
Will the repair match the rest of my roof?
Usually close, rarely perfect, and on an older roof never exact. Shingle colors change over the years and the roof up there has weathered. We'll show you what the match will look like before we do it. Nothing should be a surprise from the driveway.
My roof has been repaired before and it's leaking again. Now what?
We find out whether the old repair is the problem. Quite often it is. A patch laid over a problem doesn't stop the water. It moves it. The leak comes back a few feet away.
Do you take small jobs, or only whole roofs?
Small jobs, yes. A normal one is a handful of shingles, a valley, or a collar around a pipe. Sometimes it's the metal that seals the joint where the roof meets a wall. It's a common call and it's a real part of what we do.
Will my insurance cover a repair?
It depends on whether a storm caused it. Storm damage is usually a claim, and age and ordinary wear are not. A small repair often lands under the deductible anyway. The place to start is whether a storm caused it.
Can a roofer pay my insurance deductible?
No. In Colorado that's against the law. Anyone offering to cover it is telling you something useful about how they work.
